Gordon Couch resides in Louisville, Kentucky. He holds an undergraduate degree in music from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Music Conducting degree from Indiana State University where he studied with Dr. Roby G. George; he also studied conducting with Dr. Gary Ciepluch at the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University. Gordon’s involvement with The Cavaliers started as a member of the horn line in 1989. Aging out in 1992, Gordon went on to pursue a career with General Motors in the then-new Saturn division as a team coordinator and trainer in the early 1990s. In 2001, Gordon began a career in teaching as a band director in Kentucky before moving to teach Texas, and finally Indiana collecting seven state championship appearances over eight years and three state championship titles. Gordon now works in Television research with the Nielsen Corporation while also continuing pursuits in the marching arts as an active show designer, consultant, and adjudicator.
