Director of Bands at Williamstown Jr./Sr. High School
I am an active educator with the drum corps.
I am well connected in several circuits in my area and internationally.
I know how to make decisions based on the most beneficial thing for the organization I represent.
I’m a good listener.
I know how to work hard and play hard.
The alumni should vote for me because of my current connections with the drum corps. I have always bled green. That fact has not changed even as I am a current educator of the future alumni.
Chapter get-togethers prior to every show the corps is at.
Further development of an archive of Cavalier history.
Being a connector between current members and alumni.
My vision is to connect the present with the past. Almost all Cavaliers are cut from the same cloth and I would love to help connect current members with the alumni who paved the way for their future.
2014-2018 Trumpet, Drum Major
Drill and Visual Designer
Great Time Management skills
Recently aged out
I know how to use the internet
Most of my age out in 2018 was spent dealing with drama outside of the actual membership. I think the CAA could benefit from insight I have as to good techniques with interacting with current members while not distracting from their actual reason of being at The Cavaliers - to march.
Scholarship program for member dues
Increase awareness of alumni role in interaction with corps.
Alumni business outreach programs
Old guys giving new guys financial opportunities to march DCI.
1977-1981 Cadets Corps Flag, Rifle Snare
1982-1987 A-Corps Rifle, Drum Major
Alumnus & Gear Image Quality Control Manager
Good Analytical Skills
I know a lot of old bus songs
Complete understanding of what a gear should look like
I would like to help find ways to make it easier for alumni to start/continue to support the Corps. We have alumni at all stages of life and with full ranges of ability to spend time, and money helping the Corps. Having multiple ways to support the Corps presented to the alumni in a common way should bring more into the fold and intensify or rekindle their relationship to the Corps.
Functional Alumni Database
Cavalier Memorial integrated with Database
Common platform/method to communicate the Corp’s need to alumni
The Cavalier Alumni Association should make all alumni feel welcome and encouraged to continue their brotherhood with The Cavalier organization. By fostering this brotherhood for alumni of all background and stages of life, the Cavalier Alumni Association should provide a broad resource pool to help The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition, the Cavalier Alumni Association should provide a framework for alumni to interact socially and commercially with each other that strengthens the links between alumni and therefore strengthen the association as a whole.
I am a recent age-out with a ton of passion, energy, fresh ideas, and want to make the alumni experience more engaging, fun, and better for everyone.
Creating a unified history catalogue
Highlight connections made between alumni, and between alumni and members
Create a visual history of Cavaliers on the field-uniforms, equipment, logos, etc
I want to help create an environment where alumni feel like they are heard, and personally empowered to contribute towards any part of the cavaliers organization, especially the CAA. My hope is that alumni will want to actively engage with each other and the current Corps/ensembles, whether virtually, at regional meet ups, by volunteering, tailgates, car shows, etc. There is an undeniable positive energy created when Cavaliers get together, and there is so much good that can come of that energy even while we’re spread across the country.
1990-1993 Percussion, Colorguard, Drum Major

Kept in Contact with Corps activities as best to my ability, well past aging out. I Continue to remain engaged with current alumni and admin when the opportunity arises.
Continue to work professionally in the music education business, on the sales and service side of it.
Communicate and relate well to the vast diversity of our alumni, spanning various eras
Still passionate about the positive effect that the activity has on young people, and especially the unique experiences The Cavaliers provide.
Bad Ass Golfer
My PLATFORM is simply to keep the peace between old guys and new guys. We’re all in this together.
Continue to grow local chapter initiative
Pre Finals Party Growth
Re-engage “distant” alumni
Continued growth in connection with alumni to recent age outs. This would retain the more recent age outs engagement with the Corps, to ensure future alumni support. Not necessarily exclusive to financial support, but organizational continuity.
2015-2017 Front Ensemble
Front Ensemble Coordinator | Wheaton Warrenville South High School
Ability to identify and implement supplementary revenue streams
Understanding of younger alumni interests and needs
Thorough knowledge of corps history and operations
Track record of established relationships with alumni of other Chicago-area corps
Serious academic work that positions drum corps as an idiom worth studying and preserving
As alumni of The Cavaliers, it is our responsibility to preserve our histories and the legacy of Don Warren for those who succeed us. By seriously documenting our heritage, we can ensure that all Cavaliers, present and future, can learn about and participate in our unique brotherhood. If elected to the CAA Board of Directors, I will work with the current CAA Board, alumni, and Corps administration to collect, archive, and preserve the oral and tangible histories of The Cavaliers.
Bolstering CAA supplemental income by identifying, collecting, and selling desirable goods (e.g., vintage merchandise) at CAA chapter meetings or online
Developing a prototype of a Cavaliers digital archive, coordinating with CAA Board of Directors, FMMs, CMMs, and Corps administration
Demonstrating the potential and efficacy of this digital archive by a) Updating and expanding the alumni database into a more user-friendly format and b) Conducting, transcribing, and digitizing 5 oral history interviews with Corps alumni
I see the Cavalier Alumni Association as a space for FMMs to strengthen our ideals of brotherhood by sharing memories and histories of The Cavaliers. While the CAA currently uses social events and networking to promote this camaraderie, I believe that serious documentation of these histories ensures that future generations of Cavaliers will appreciate their unique bond to those who came before them. Accordingly, I envision the CAA investing in the preservation of our brotherhood and setting a new standard of member engagement among drum corps alumni groups.

Database/Web Design Skills
As a person of color and a member of the Corps from the late 90's-00's, I am a voice for a missing generation of members still actively involved in the Corps. I want to ensure we are able to use media outlets like our alumni group to create a positive environment so that we can continue to foster a community and bring/keep people engaged in the organization we all love so much.

Outreach. Securing engagement from all generations of alumni
The CAA is an organization that takes pride in its responsibility to preserve history, to engage and positively interact with our base, mentor those newly inducted as alumni, is recognized in our drum corps community as a valuable resource, and is ultimately a place that fosters a sense of passion for life-long involvement in our organization.

Re-engaging and reconnecting Alumni and Current Members
Work on more marketing for the CAA
Projecting more positive energy to the group of alumni
My vision is to work hard to be the positive influence for each of the CAA members. Keep the goals of why the CAA is the best Alumni group in Drum Corps. Making the goal of the CAA and Alumni to influence the new and current members with the traditions of where we came from and where we can go in the future.

Like many of you, I value my time and experiences in The Cavaliers. Serving on the board is my small way of giving back to the organization that has given me so much.
Encouraging more alumni to be involved on the alumni Facebook page.
Encourage more local members to get involved and volunteer.
Help the board support the Corps and the alumni as much as possible.
The alumni association is designed to serve the alumni and continue to support the Cavalier organization. Alumni involvement is the key for success.
The Board of Directors (BOD) is the governing body of the Alumni Association.
The BOD consists of 11 alumni, including a President (voting member of Corps BOD), Vice President, and Secretary.
In addition, once our 2020 Board Members are elected, the CAA Board will then vote on our newly introduced officer roles of Historian and Communications to help bolster our history preservation and alumni communications.

Flexibility to attend monthly conference calls
